SUMMARY:Holiday Open House: Holiday Tunes with Some Old Friends/Terry Warner and Cookie Potluck
DESCRIPTION:Holiday open house: Join us for live music and cookie munching at the teahouse. Let’s be cozy around the fireplace and enjoy some togetherness and holiday cheer!\nSome Old Friends (playing 6pm-7:30pm) are a local band from Carter County travelling the region entertaining with covers of many genres covering many decades of music. Their original music is highlighted throughout their sets\, some already published on Spotify. \nCountry\, rock\, and blues drive our sound but we have leaned into the eclectic as well. They are currently a duet but have added friends in the past to give larger shows for larger venues but definitely shine in smaller interactive environments. \nThey will be followed by Terry Warner playing Old Time tunes from 7:30pm-8:30pm. \nJoin us for this Holiday special edition with Some Old Friends and Terry Warner! \nMaterials Needed:  Bring one dozen of your favorite Holiday cookies to share. Bring recipe card (people can take photo so it is not necessary to bring more than one copy) and we can sample each other’s faves while enjoying some Hot Spiced Cider and live music! \nWhere: Fireplace/living room area\, first floor \nCost: Food/Beverage purchases encouraged to support teahouse nonprofit\, Tips for musician encouraged \nHow to register: drop-in

SUMMARY:Climate Cafe
DESCRIPTION:What is a climate cafe? Climate-minded friends & neighbors who come together to share what’s important and to build a stronger\, safer world for us all! Climate Cafe occurs on the 2nd Tuesday monthly. \nLocation: Classroom/meditation space\, 2nd floor \nCost: Free. Food and drink purchases encouraged. \nHow to register: Drop-in. Registration form available to fill out upon arrival. \nInstructor Contact Information: Chelsea Green\, chelseagreencmi@gmail.com\nwww.anubeginningtherapy.com \nToo often\, our grief & anxiety around climate change lacks the community awareness\, support\, and rituals that would help us build resiliency. Now more than ever\, we need places & spaces to share our ideas\, our concerns\, our fears\, and our dreams. Gathering for these conversations helps us tap into a bigger network of support\, like the trees & mycelium share resources in their underground networks. \nClimate Cafes are free 90-minute gatherings welcome to all because we know that when we engage in meaningful conversation and action in the context of a community\, we grow our capacity to serve something bigger than ourselves. The Climate Cafe’s goal is to get more people together\, in more places\, talking about climate change in a supportive and welcoming space. \nThis event takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at The Philosopher’s House in Johnson City\, Tennessee and is facilitated by Registered Climate Therapist\, Chelsea Green\, MA\, LPC\, CPA-NA. \nBeing human has always involved persisting through danger and uncertainty. By embracing our love for nature\, for all plants and animals\, and for humanity\, even in the face of great loss and pain our grief can empower us to fight for a better future for all.
