DESCRIPTION:Create Appalachia Announces Fall 2026 Avante Creative Entrepreneur Boot Camp \nCreate Appalachia is now accepting registrations for the Fall 2026 Avante Creative Entrepreneur Boot Camp\, a hands-on business development program designed specifically for artists\, makers\, designers\, performers\, culinary entrepreneurs\, digital creators\, and other creative professionals. \nSupported by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission\, the boot camp recognizes that creative businesses face unique challenges not addressed by traditional business education. Participants will gain practical tools for pitching their business\, pricing their work\, understanding finances\, marketing effectively\, building customer relationships\, and creating sustainable business models. \nThe Fall 2026 program includes three in-person sessions at Philosopher’s House\, 117 W. Fairview Ave. in Johnson City. SUMMARY:September Sound Bath (registration required)
DESCRIPTION:SEPTEMBER SOUND BATH\n\nJoin Soprano Moira Murphy for a midweek centering session through this unique sound bath experience. Combining guided meditation with soprano vocals and drone and percussion instruments from around the world\, Moira creates an ethereal soundscape to encourage relaxation and spiritual introspection. Music will range across improvisations\, chants of 12th century mystic Hildegard von Bingen\, Appalachian folk tunes\, and original compositions. Her path has taken her across opera stages\, on stage with orchestras\, jazz combos\, indie\, rock\, goth\, and metal bands\, behind the piano\, and to the conducting podium. She is currently a music director\, music teacher\, and arranger living back in the hills and hollers. Her arrangements of the chants of 12th century mystic Hildegard von Bingen have transformed from a recital into a full sound bath experience\, which has blossomed into appearances around the country and recordings available online. Her debut solo album\, ‘A Trembling Flame\,’ as well as guided meditation tracks\, are streaming on Spotify and YouTube.
