SUMMARY:Fireside Chat: Artist Jai Gervin
DESCRIPTION:*Sponsored by Carson and Paige McSailor*\n\nJai Gervin\nMixed Media Artist\n“I am a “creative visionary” with the soul of an artist and the heart of a Social Worker. I was born\, raised\, and still live in Johnson City\, TN. I believe that this small\, typically conservative\, town forced me to find alternative creative outlets even as a child. As I grew up\, my artistic nature was not valued in my family\, so I didn’t tap in to my creative side for many years.\n     During the pandemic I began to desire to create again this time as an adult with no rules or lines to color within. You will find that my art is much deeper than the first glance. It reflects life experiences\, inspirations\, emotions and stories I have fabricated along the way. I tend to create pieces that are personal to me and relatable to others. I find the most joy working with mixed media by combining ordinary things with other mediums that don’t traditionally “fit” together; much like me. I have found great joy and healing via this avenue and am excited to be able to share it with folks that appreciate it and find their own joy through my lens.”\n\nCost: Food/drink purchases encouraged to support teahouse nonprofit\n\nLocation: Fireplace/Living room\, 1st floor\nArtist Statement: For me\, art is both therapeutic and fascinating. I’ve always been\nintrigued in how two or more people can look at the same piece yet interpret it\ndifferently.    I am no stranger to thinking outside of the box and creating art that sparks conversations. My art follows no rules. It is bold\, vibrant\, thought provoking\, diverse\, distorted and interesting. I create original one-time pieces that are never duplicated.\n\nFor more about Jai’s art: https://jgervin.com
